The focus of our Western Maryland Association of Fundraising Professionals chapter has been on providing continuing education, professional advancement, and an avenue for fundraisers, new and experienced, a way to network and learn from one another. In addition we promote AFP's ethical principles and standards of professional practice. We are part of the National network AFP chapters literally all over the world. Our chapter holds seminars the second Wednesday of each odd month. Meetings are rotated between Frederick and Washington Counties. The chapter was founded in 1999 when a group of professional fundraisers felt that there was a need to network and learn together without having to travel far from their communities. Speakers for our seminars vary from local experts to international speakers. Monthly events are free for members and $10 for non-members.
